I am currently doing my apprenticeship as a print media technician in screen printing
What are your main duties?
As a print media technician for screen printing, I print on plastic films using fully or semi-automatic printing machines. To do this, I prepare the analogue or digital image data on the computer. During my training, I was taught the basics of printing and pre-press processes.
What prerequisites should applicants fulfil?
A good secondary school leaving certificate with good grades in mathematics as well as manual dexterity and the ability to recognise subtle colour differences are prerequisites for this profession.
What prospects and career opportunities will you have after completing your apprenticeship?
After my apprenticeship, I can do a course to become a master craftsman or train to become a technician.
